IndiGo has decided to cancel flights to and from Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Madinah in Saudi Arabia until October 24, 2026. This decision is due to ongoing security concerns in the area.

Houthi attacks recently hit King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh earlier this month, leading to casualties, including some Indian nationals, and temporary airport closures. As a result, operations at the Riyadh airport are still halted.

Akasa Air announced on October 15 that its flights to Riyadh will remain cancelled until October 24, 2026, while flights to Jeddah are cancelled until October 21, 2026. Passengers have the option of a full refund within 7 days or free rescheduling.

On October 13, Air India confirmed it would cancel flights to Riyadh, Dammam, and Jeddah until October 17, 2026, and is watching the situation for further updates. Passengers on these flights can receive a full refund.

Air India Express has also stopped flights to Riyadh, Dammam, and Jeddah until October 17, 2026, offering free rescheduling or a full refund. Airports in Dammam, Jeddah, and Madinah have some disruptions, but Saudia and flynas are running limited services, like the Dammam–Lucknow route.

IndiGo is directly notifying passengers about refunds or rescheduling. Those who purchased tickets through travel agents or partners should contact them directly. Passengers who booked directly should check for SMS and email updates and use the airline’s app or website for information on flight status, refunds, and rescheduling.

The Indian Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate General of India in Jeddah are providing support to stranded passengers, including Umrah pilgrims. Travellers should have their passport, visa, booking, and agent details ready when reaching out to control rooms. They should avoid sharing personal information on social media. Due to rapid changes in flight status from security checks, passengers should confirm their flight details with the airline or booking source before heading to the airport.
