Mahabubnagar: Farmers in Palamuru finally feel relieved as 1,500 metric tonnes of urea have arrived in Mahabubnagar district, resolving the recent chaos at PACS and Growmore centers.
For days, farmers faced a severe urea shortage, causing long lines and crowded distribution points. The scarcity news spread quickly, making farmers worry about their crops. Earlier, small stock deliveries were used up fast, adding to the panic.
Fresh supplies have now reached the Jadcherla Railway Station Goods Shed. Out of the total, 550 metric tonnes go to Mahabubnagar, 650 metric tonnes to Nagarkurnool, and 300 metric tonnes to Narayanpet district.
District Collector Viziyendira Boi, along with Jadcherla MLA J. Anirudh Reddy, inspected the new supplies. They assured farmers that everyone would receive the needed urea and asked them not to crowd the centers. They instructed agriculture officials to ensure fair distribution based on need across all areas.
MLA Anirudh Reddy reassured his constituents that enough stock is now available and urged them not to rush to PACS centers. “There’s no longer a shortage. Every farmer will get what they need,” he said.
Farmers expressed relief at the news. Andhi Bai from Goplapur, who planted cotton on three acres, said, “I’ve been waiting at the PACS center in Jadcherla for three days. The shortage worried us. Now, with new stocks, I hope to get enough urea for my crop.”
Similarly, Srinivas from Gangapur, cultivating maize and paddy on six acres, shared his difficulties: “I’ve been searching for urea at Growmore centers for a week. The small stock wasn’t enough. Now, with the large quantities arriving, we hope for a proper supply.”
With the arrival of fresh stocks, farmers across Mahabubnagar district are hopeful for a steady supply, ensuring good yields and a smooth farming season ahead.
