Police Chief Warns Trouble-Makers as Surveillance Increases

Gadwal: In Jogulamba Gadwal district, the police are enhancing the safety of women and girls. She Teams are actively monitoring crowded areas and places near schools.

District SP T. Srinivasa Rao, IPS, announced on Tuesday that She Teams are working tirelessly to prevent harassment and help women in need. He encouraged women and girls to call the She Team helpline at 8712670312 if they encounter harassment.

The SP emphasized that anyone harassing women will face strict consequences. Special patrols are in place at busy public spots, schools, and colleges to identify and act against troublemakers.

In August, She Teams conducted the following activities:

  • Organized 10 awareness programs for students, workers, and women at workplaces.
  • Conducted 73 hotspot inspections.
  • Received 3 petitions and registered 3 FIRs.
  • Caught 12 individuals in the act and filed 12 petty cases.
  • Held 13 counseling sessions for offenders.

The awareness programs addressed topics like child marriage, identifying inappropriate touch, crimes against women, applicable laws, cybercrimes, human trafficking, self-defense, the T-Safe app, Dial 100, and social media crimes. The SP noted these initiatives aim to educate and empower young people to remain vigilant and safe.
