Hyderabad is pushing forward with major infrastructure projects. GHMC Commissioner R V Karnan has instructed engineering teams to set clear schedules for the ongoing works under the Hyderabad City Innovative & Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITI) and Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP). Projects include flyovers, road over bridges, underpasses, and road widening.
On Tuesday, a thorough review meeting was held at the GHMC Head Office. R V Karnan and various officials, including zonal commissioners and engineers, discussed the current status of projects. They talked about progress, challenges, and what still needs to be done.
Karnan assured there are enough funds for these projects. He urged officials to speed up utility shifting and land acquisition. Any issues needing State Government attention will be quickly addressed. He stressed the importance of working closely with the Metro Rail, Defence Authorities, and Railway to minimize disruptions. Collaboration with the Traffic Police is also crucial.
To fast-track design processes, Karnan announced a new 10-member In-House Design Wing. This team of experienced GHMC engineers will handle project designs for quicker results. The meeting included Zonal Commissioners Anurag Jayanthi, Borkade Hemant, Sahadeva Rao, Hemant Patil, Srinivas Reddy, and Ravi Kiran, along with Chief Engineer Bhaskar Reddy, Chief City Planner Srinivas, and Special Deputy Collector Ramulu Nayak.
