Wanaparthy, Telangana – Residents across villages and towns in the Wanaparthy district are struggling to update their Aadhaar details due to the closure of local Aadhaar centres.
With centres in mandal headquarters like Pebbair non-operational for several months, people are left with no choice but to travel to the district headquarters for simple tasks such as correcting date of birth or updating personal information.
This journey often takes an entire day, causing unnecessary delays and inconvenience. Locals say the issue could be easily managed if Aadhaar services were available at the municipal level.
The problem affects not just Pebbair but several parts of the State, according to ADE Vijay Kumar. He explained that the centres are shut because of missing user login credentials. His team has already submitted requests to the district administration to fix the issue.
Vijay Kumar confirmed that this is a statewide issue and that authorities are aware of the problem. However, he admitted that it may take more time before services are restored.
Locals are urging the District Collector to step in and speed up the process so that essential public services can resume. Without local Aadhaar centres, rural residents continue to face avoidable hardships.
