Revanth Reddy, a member of the Congress party, is set to become the first Chief Minister of Telangana. At the age of 54, he will also be the youngest Chief Minister in the state’s history. Revanth was born on November 8, 1969, in KondareddyPalli village in Nagarkurnool district. He graduated from Osmania University and started his political career with the ABVP. In 2006, he became a ZPTC member as an independent candidate. He is married to Geetha, who is the niece of former union minister S Jaipal Reddy.

Revanth was elected as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) in 2007 as an independent candidate. He later joined the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) under N Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership and won the Legislative Assembly election from Kodangal in 2009.
