The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) said Tulasiram Sunitha, a Town Planning Supervisor at the GHMC Golkonda Zone, Circle 33, Mehdipatnam, was caught red-handed on October 5, 2026. ACB officials from City Range-I said she had demanded Rs. 8 lakh and accepted a part payment of Rs. 4 lakh.
According to the ACB press note, the alleged bribe was linked to an official favour involving building construction. The complainant had sought permission to proceed with construction despite Speaking Orders issued by the GHMC Deputy Commissioner. The note said the request also involved avoiding further harassment and receiving cooperation in future.
ACB said it recovered the Rs. 4 lakh in alleged bribe money from Sunitha’s possession. Officials also found and seized Rs. 2.5 lakh in unaccounted cash, the release said. Sunitha was to be produced before the I Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases at Nampally for judicial remand. The case was under investigation, and the complainant’s details were withheld for security reasons.
The ACB asked the public to report demands for bribes by public servants through its toll-free number, 1064. It also listed WhatsApp contact 9440446106, Facebook as Telangana ACB and X, formerly Twitter, as @Telangana ACB. The bureau said complainants’ names and details would be kept secret.
