The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted a trap at the District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO) office in Rajendranagar, Ranga Reddy district, on October 5. Three people have been booked in connection with the alleged bribery case.
The accused are DM&HO Swarna Kumari, Health Inspector M. Srinivas and private driver Madduri Krishnajah, the ACB said.
According to the ACB, Krishnajah allegedly demanded ₹2 lakh from a complainant on the instructions of Swarna Kumari and Srinivas. The demand was linked to a private physiotherapy centre.
The alleged payment was sought for returning keys seized from the centre, avoiding further action over its alleged operation without a DM&HO licence, and helping secure a new licence, the ACB said.
During the trap, Krishnajah allegedly accepted ₹1 lakh. The ACB said it recovered the amount from his possession. It also alleged that the two officials improperly and dishonestly used their official positions to obtain an undue advantage.
All three accused are being produced before the I Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases at Nampally for judicial remand. The case remains under investigation, and the complainant’s identity has been withheld for security reasons.
