Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Mahabubnagar, posters opposing his visit were displayed on the walls of Hyderabad. These posters were put up by unidentified people and had writings against Modi. The posters stated that Modi has no moral right to visit Telangana and accused him of showing stepmother’s love for the state.

The posters also mentioned that the Polavaram project in Andhra Pradesh and the Upper Bhadra project in Karnataka were given national status, but the Palamuru project in Telangana was not. This was seen as an injustice done by the Centre to Telangana. The poster alleged that Modi’s visit to Mahabubnagar is an example of stepmother’s love and that he has no moral right to visit the district.
