Gadwal: Leaders from different political parties have come together to request the relocation of the Social Welfare Gurukula School back to Ieeja town. They submitted a petition to the district collector with this demand.
The school was originally approved for Ieeja mandal and ran for one year from the Boys’ School in Ieeja. However, due to more students and not enough space, it was moved to a private building near Erravalli crossroads in Itikyala mandal.
Currently, the school is running in poor conditions in a rented bungalow. The building’s owner now wants the school to vacate the premises. The leaders said that moving the school back to Ieeja would be better, as there are better facilities available there.
They suggested that the school be shifted to the old Shiva Sai Degree College building, which they say is well-equipped to handle the students. They also mentioned that land near Timmapa Temple, close to the Srisailam highway and under the Ieeja flyover, had already been set aside for the school. This land is currently being used as a municipal nursery.
The leaders asked the officials to take quick action to either move the school to the college building or begin construction on the allocated land. They stressed that this would benefit both the students and their families.
Those who submitted the petition included Akhilapaksha Committee leaders such as Nagara Doddi Venkata Ramulu, Dandora Anjaneyulu, Md. Taher, Kuruva Palleiah, Veerayya Shetty, SP Hanumanthu, Ashwa Mareppa, Driver Krishna, Raju, and Writer Konda.
