Officials at the Kasturba Gandhi Girls hostel in Madanapuram mandal are reportedly making the students do tasks like making chapatis, instead of treating them well. This has upset the parents of the children, who say their kids are being served uncooked rice and ‘charu’, and are missing out on the joys of childhood.
The parents want the officials to be held accountable for treating the children like maids. Student unions are also upset about the situation, blaming it on a lack of supervision.
There are claims that the students are not getting the right food, curries, or filtered water. Officials are allegedly pressuring students to keep quiet about what’s happening, so that the unpleasant conditions don’t get exposed.
