    NIA Conducts Raids in Several States, Targeting Gangsters, Smugglers, and Khalistani Network

    • The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at dozens of locations in several Indian states, including Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, as part of a broader conspiracy investigation targeting the nexus of gangsters, smugglers, and Khalistani elements.

    President Droupadi Murmu will be attending the final event of the 125th birth anniversary celebrations for Alluri Sitarama Raju on July 4 in Hyderabad as the chief guest. Alluri Sitarama Raju was a tribal leader who fought against British colonial rule and led the Rampa Rebellion in the 1920s. The Union Government started year-long celebrations last year to honor his contribution to India’s freedom struggle.

    On July 4, 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a 30-feet high bronze statue of Alluri Sitarama Raju in Bheemavaram. He was born on July 4, 1897, in Pandrangi village of Vizianagaram district in Andhra Pradesh.
