The closing ceremony of the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Alluri Sitaramaraju, also known as Manyam Hero, recently took place at Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad. President Draupadi Murmu attended the ceremony as the chief guest. During her speech, President Murmu praised Sitaramaraju’s struggle and patriotism, comparing him to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. She stressed the importance of preserving Sitaramaraju’s history for future generations. The President highlighted that Sitaramaraju fought against the British using his unique skills.
Additionally, President Murmu virtually inaugurated a 30-foot bronze statue and memorial forest dedicated to Alluri Sitaramaraju in Bhimavaram, located in the West Godavari district. The inauguration was done from Hyderabad.
