Experienced politician Sharad Pawar has invited the state leadership, including his nephew Ajit Pawar, to have dinner at his home in Baramati in March. This invitation comes as Ajit Pawar may nominate his wife as a candidate in Baramati, potentially competing against Sharad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule.

In a letter to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his deputies Devendra Fadanavis and Ajit Pawar, Sharad Pawar mentioned their upcoming visit to Baramati for a government event on March 2. He expressed his desire for himself and his daughter to attend the event as Members of Parliament. However, it’s worth noting that Sharad Pawar was not invited to the Maharozgar Mela event on March 2 in Baramati.

Sharad Pawar also invited the Chief Minister and his deputies to have dinner at his residence, Govind Bagh. This invitation coincides with rumors of Ajit Pawar’s wife Sunetra potentially running against Supriya Sule in Baramati. The Baramati Lok Sabha constituency has been a stronghold for Sharad Pawar and Supriya Sule since 1996.

In July 2023, Ajit Pawar rebelled against Sharad Pawar and joined the ruling BJP-Shiv Sena coalition in Maharashtra, causing a split in the NCP. Recently, the Election Commission recognized Ajit Pawar’s faction as the legitimate NCP, granting them the party name and symbol. As a result, Sharad Pawar’s faction now operates under the name ‘NCP-Sharadchandra Pawar’.
