Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, and Revanth Reddy, the Chief Minister of Telangana, met in Delhi to tackle water issues between their states. Union Water Resources Minister CR Patil hosted this important meeting at Shramshakti Bhavan.
The main focus was on the proposal by Andhra Pradesh for the Polavaram-Banakacherla interconnection project. Telangana brought up ten concerns that needed addressing. Nimmala Ramanaidu and Uttam Kumar Reddy, the Water Resources Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, joined the meeting. Key officials like Chief Secretaries, Water Resources Department secretaries, and engineers from both states also participated.
Before the official meeting, the chief ministers held discussions with their state teams. They prepared the agenda and reviewed technical responses to various issues. This preparation lasted about ninety minutes. The meeting highlighted both states’ dedication to solving water disputes through cooperation.
