The Telangana government has decided to name the road adjacent to the US Consulate in Hyderabad as Donald Trump Avenue. The state government will formally communicate this proposal to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the US Embassy.
This move is part of a broader initiative by the state government to rename major roads and junctions in Hyderabad after prominent technology companies and global leaders.
A major stretch near Google’s upcoming largest-outside-US campus in the Financial District will be designated as Google Street. The tech giant is establishing one of its biggest offices outside the United States in this area, making it a significant landmark for the city.
The Raviryala interchange on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) has already been named the Tata Interchange. This naming was done to recognize the presence of Tata Consultancy Services and other Tata group companies in the vicinity.
Additionally, Microsoft Road and Wipro Junction are also under consideration as part of this innovation-branding initiative. These names would reflect the strong presence of major technology companies in Hyderabad’s IT corridor.
The state government’s decision appears to be aimed at highlighting Hyderabad’s status as a major global technology hub. The city hosts numerous multinational corporations and has emerged as one of India’s leading destinations for information technology and business services.
