This was Buttler’s fifth duck of the season, which is the most by any player in a single season of the IPL. Buttler had a great season in 2022, where he won the orange cap by scoring 863 runs in 17 matches.
However, this season, Buttler has struggled to find consistency, with just 392 runs in 14 matches at an average of 28.00. In his last seven innings, he scored only 59 runs and registered four consecutive ducks. Despite this, the Rajasthan Royals managed to win against the Punjab Kings, thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal’s partnership and cameos from Shimron Hetmyer and Dhruv Jurel.
With this win, the Rajasthan Royals have seven wins and seven losses and are in fifth place in the points table with 14 points.
