The Meteorological Department has alerted the public about heavy and very heavy rainfall in different parts of the Telugu states. This weather is due to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal. Along with the rain, thunderstorms and lightning are expected.
In Andhra Pradesh, areas like East Godavari, West Godavari, and Eluru districts will be particularly affected. Rain will be widespread on the south coast and in Tirupati. Strong winds are expected along the coast, and authorities have advised fishermen to stay ashore.
In Telangana, heavy rain is predicted for Sircilla, Karimnagar, Mulugu, Kothagudem, and Kamareddy districts today. Other districts are likely to see moderate rain, according to meteorological officials.
