Assam CM informs Owaisi about plan to shut down 300 additional madrassas in 2023

Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has announced that he plans to close 300 more madrassas this year in addition to the 600 already closed since he became CM. He made the announcement while addressing a gathering in Karimnagar and said that he wants to replace the madrassas with schools, colleges, and universities.

CM Sarma has been working towards stopping love jihad in Assam and intends to reduce the number of madrassas in the state. He wants to put general education in madrassas and start a system of registration. He also said that his government is working with the minority community, who are helping them in this regard.

Earlier this year, CM Sarma said that people from Bangladesh pose a threat to the state’s civilization and culture. He made the statement during a rally in Belagavi meant for ‘Shiva Charithe.’ His government wants to reduce the number of madrassas and replace them with educational institutions.
