Assembly Elections in Telangana: Election Commission Initiates Preparation Work

The Election Commission of India is getting ready for the Assembly elections in the State later this year. They want the State authorities to check all the electronic voting machines (EVMs) to make sure they’re working properly. They also want to train everyone who will help with the election, and a team of officials is visiting the State to make sure everything is ready.

The team of officials from the Election Commission met with the State’s Chief Electoral Officer on Saturday. They talked about getting the electoral rolls up to date, making sure the list of returning officers is complete, and checking the EVMs starting in June. They also want to set up a workshop for all District Election Officers to learn more about what they need to do.

The Chief Electoral Officer said that the EVMs have been tested and are ready to go. The Election Commission officials stressed that they want as many people as possible to vote and asked for more activities to get people interested in voting. The meeting was attended by several officials from the Election Commission of India.
