Police in Gadwal made a significant bust before the Bakrid festival. Near the Pullur Toll Plaza on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru National Highway, they stopped a large vehicle. This container was illegally carrying over 70 cattle, including cows and bulls, from Vijayawada to Hyderabad.
The operation took place in Undavelli Mandal of Jogulamba Gadwal district. With the festival approaching, police and check-post staff increased their monitoring. They became suspicious of the container vehicle and found it violating animal transport and welfare rules.
Veterinary officials confirmed the vehicle’s seizure during routine festival checks. The cattle had no proper documents or care.
After seizing the vehicle, authorities moved the animals to the Manavapadu Government High School to ensure their safety. Veterinary officers said farmers interested in adopting the cattle could do so under supervision.
This event highlights ongoing illegal cattle transport issues, especially around festivals. Police remain vigilant in stopping such activities. They are investigating to find those responsible and plan to take legal action.
