The State Drugs Control Administration in Hyderabad uncovered a scheme selling a mixture of allopathic drug powder labeled as ‘Ayurvedic Medicine for the treatment of Diabetes’ in Ghatkesar. During a raid on Sampurna Ayurveda Nilayam, stocks worth Rs 1.5 lakh were seized, which were claimed to be Ayurvedic medicines but actually contained allopathic anti-diabetic drugs like Metformin, Glimepiride, and Gliclazide.

Additionally, in separate raids, DCA officials confiscated two overpriced medicines – ZenBact ointment (Mupirocin Ointment IP 2% w/w) in Narsampet and Thymeen Injection (Thiamine Injection IP 100 mg/ml) in Godavarikhani.

Another seizure included ‘Femizoy Syrup’, an Ayurvedic medicine in Jadcherla, due to a misleading advertisement claiming it treats ‘disorders of menstrual flow’.
