Ayyanna Patrudu assumes role of Speaker in 16th AP Legislative Assembly

Senior TDP MLA Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu became the Speaker of the 16th Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh. The announcement was made by Pro-tem Speaker Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, and the election was unanimous with only one nomination.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and BJP MLAs escorted Ayyanna Patrudu to the podium. Ayyanna Patrudu, representing Narsipatnam constituency in Anakapalle district, has over 40 years of political experience.

He joined politics when TDP was formed in 1983 and has been elected from Narsipatnam seven times. Ayyanna Patrudu has held various ministerial positions in different governments, including Minister of Technical Education, Sports, Roads and Buildings (twice), Forest, and Panchayati Raj.
