Health Minister says Osmania Hospital needs immediate attention

Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha announced on Friday that a new building will be constructed for the Osmania General Hospital soon. The Minister also inaugurated an MRI machine, a new kitchen, and renovated the medical OP at the hospital. He expressed the need for treatment for Osmania Hospital, which holds historical significance and is an important healthcare facility in Hyderabad and Telangana.

Rajanarasimha stated that the government is committed to improving Osmania Hospital, and if the High Court does not permit demolition, a foundation stone will be laid for the new building at an alternate location. He also mentioned plans to demolish the GNM Hostel building and construct a new one in its place to better serve nursing students from weaker sections of society.

The Minister emphasized the government’s dedication to enhancing primary and secondary healthcare services without compromising on quality. He highlighted the recent revision of rates under Arogyasri and the inclusion of additional procedures after 12 years. The government aims to address any gaps in the health sector and ensure accessibility to quality healthcare services for all.

Rajanarasimha also directed local authorities to provide input on modernizing Osmania Mortuary and assured that student welfare and convenience would be prioritized in any decisions regarding government properties. The Minister’s visit to the hospital included interactions with doctors, staff, and patients, demonstrating the government’s active involvement in improving healthcare facilities in the region.
