Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital to Hold Free Screening Camp on World Cancer Day

The Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (BIACH&RI) in Hyderabad is organizing a free cancer screening camp to mark World Cancer Day. The camp will take place on the hospital premises from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on February 4. As part of the initiative, the hospital will also offer the HPV vaccine at discounted prices from February 4 to February 28.

World Cancer Day is observed globally every year on February 4 to raise awareness about cancer prevention, detection, and treatment. To contribute to this cause, BIACH&RI will provide free consultations and basic tests during the camp, conducted by expert doctors.

The hospital is also offering the HPV vaccine, which helps prevent certain types of cancers, at a reduced price of ₹1,500 per dose. This is significantly lower than the original market price of ₹4,000 per dose. Girls aged 9 to 14 years will need two doses of the vaccine within six months, while females aged 15 to 26 years will require three doses within the same period.

This initiative aims to make cancer prevention and early detection accessible to more people, underlining the importance of timely intervention in fighting the disease.
