Bhadrachalam witnesses Godavari river rise to 5.40 ft

Due to heavy rains in Bhadrachalam and nearby areas, the water level is rising. At 8am on Saturday, the water level reached 54.40 feet. The final warning level is in effect. The district Collector, Dr Priyanka Ala, has alerted sectorial officers and is monitoring the situation from her office. In total, 77 villages have been submerged in the floods. The Collector has ordered officers to stay at their posts and is monitoring Mandal level officers every hour. A control room has been set up at the Sub-Collector office in Bhadrachalam for monitoring operations. According to Dr Priyanka Ala, the water level is expected to reach 58 feet in the evening for further study.
