Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu instructed officials to speed up the Land Regularisation Scheme to increase State income. Many applications were pending for a long time, and he wanted the process to be expedited. Bhatti reviewed various departments at the Secretariat, including Finance, Revenue, Excise, Transport, and Arogya Sri.
During the meeting, Bhatti emphasized that the LRS should only apply to eligible sites to prevent encroachment on government land. He also asked for details on houses built under Housing Board and Rajiv Swagruha schemes, as well as information on unsold properties. Bhatti inquired about a committee in the Commercial Taxes department aimed at increasing revenue through review meetings and suggested exploring ways to reduce interest payments by the RTC.
Overall, Bhatti’s focus was on enhancing State revenue through efficient processes and preventing misuse of schemes like LRS. He stressed the importance of regularizing only legitimate properties and maximizing income for the State Treasury.
