Hyderabad – Starting May 5, the Telangana government will roll out the Bhu Bharati Act across 28 districts, choosing one mandal in each district for implementation. Hyderabad is the only district excluded from this phase.
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has directed all District Collectors to attend local revenue meetings in these mandals. He emphasized that officials must clearly explain the Act to farmers and residents in language that is simple and easy to understand.
This move follows a successful trial run of the Bhu Bharati Act in four mandals earlier. Between April 17 and April 30, the Act was tested in four districts. Now, the full rollout will take place from May 5 to May 20, covering a broader area.
The core goal of these revenue meetings is to help people understand the Telangana Bhu Bharati (Record of Rights in Land) Act, 2024. Officials will also collect applications from citizens facing land-related issues and aim to resolve them quickly and fairly.
Minister Reddy pointed out that the Bhu Bharati Act was introduced after careful research and public consultation. It’s designed to offer a permanent solution for the land disputes troubling farmers across the state.
He criticized the previous Dharani portal, stating that it caused confusion and hardship for many. According to him, errors in the old system left hundreds of families across villages with unresolved land problems.
Reddy accused the former government of ignoring the needs of the people. He claimed that many families lost land rights and had no option but to fight lengthy legal battles. In contrast, he said, the current administration is taking a proactive approach. Now, officials will visit villages directly to understand and solve farmers’ problems on the ground.
The government hopes this new system will rebuild trust and bring lasting clarity to land ownership records in Telangana.
