A nor’wester hit Bhubaneswar on Thursday evening, bringing along showers. The city was covered in dark clouds and strong winds of 40-50 km were blowing on the surface. Many trees were uprooted and electricity poles were bent, leading to power outages in some areas. Raj Mahal Square, Bomikhal, Damana, Old Town and Sikharchandi were the worst affected areas in Bhubaneswar. The neighbouring city of Cuttack was also affected by the nor’wester.
