US President Joe Biden has stated that he believes China has not yet sent weapons to Russia, despite the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Speaking during a visit to Canada, Biden acknowledged the potential threat posed by both China and Russia, but also stressed the strong ties between Western democracies. He pointed to security alliances such as the Quad, which includes Australia, India, Japan, and the US, as well as AUKUS with Australia and Britain. During a recent visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Moscow, China did not commit to providing arms for Russia’s forces in Ukraine, which would have invited Western sanctions on China.
