Hyderabad: The city police have filed a case against Shaikh Mehboob, known from ‘Bigg Boss Telugu 4,’ for allegedly organizing an unauthorized party and possessing illegal liquor. The event took place at The Continent Resort in Ankushapur, Ghatkesar.
The police, along with the Excise and Prohibition department, conducted a raid during the birthday celebration on July 29. They uncovered over 11 liters of liquor, including whiskey, vodka, and beer. Specifically, they seized 11.20 liters of hard liquor and 7.50 liters of beer from the resort.
The seized items included three bottles of Ballantine’s whiskey, five bottles of vodka, one bottle of Black Label whiskey, 11 bottles of Budweiser beer, and 19 bottles of Breezer.
A case has been registered against Mehboob for organizing the party without proper permission. Resort managers Sudhir Kumar and Subhan Ali have also been booked. The police are now investigating the source of funds used to purchase the large quantity of liquor.
Officials questioned Mehboob, who claimed that his friends had organized a surprise party for him, and he was unaware of whether they had obtained the necessary permissions.
Mehboob has not yet responded to the controversy, but he did share photos from the party on his Instagram, thanking his followers, family, and friends for their wishes.
