Telangana BJP is asking the State government to make 22,000 electricity workers permanent employees. The workers are currently classified as artisans and are missing out on benefits. Former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had promised to make them government employees, but this promise was not kept.

The BJP spokesperson, Rani Rudrama, mentioned that the electricity workers played a role in the fight for a separate Telangana. Some workers even lost their lives during protests. These workers are not receiving the same benefits as private employees, contract workers, or government employees.

The current situation has left the lives and futures of the electricity workers uncertain. They are missing out on pay raises, promotions, pensions, and other benefits. Rudrama is asking for the workers to be transferred to their hometowns for better support and stability.
