Hyderabad: NVSS Prabhakar, a state BJP Vice-president and former MLA, accused former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of avoiding responsibility for the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP). He claimed KCR is blaming engineers who spoke to the PC Ghosh Commission, which is looking into issues and damages at the Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages.

Prabhakar argued that the decision to relocate the project to Medigadda was politically driven and approved by the cabinet. At a press conference at the BJP’s state office, he stated that the party would await the commission’s final report. He emphasized that those involved in KLIP’s irregularities would not evade accountability and called for a CBI inquiry to reveal the truth.

He criticized KCR for ignoring CAG warnings about undue advantages given to contractors and concerns about KLIP’s feasibility. Prabhakar accused KCR of allowing irrigation experts to continue with the project, leading to major financial losses.
