Hyderabad: BJP MP and party OBC Morcha national president Dr K Laxman spoke at a meeting on Sunday, where he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his care and support for the SC, ST, and BC communities. Dr Laxman urged the attendees to show their support for the PM.

He mentioned that the BC communities have been striving to be included in the OBC list for many years. Despite changes in governments and rulers, the inclusion of 29 communities in the OBC list has remained unresolved. Dr Laxman highlighted that Hansraj GangaramAhir, the chairperson of the National Commission for Backward Classes, has reviewed this pending issue. He also stated that 26 communities were removed from the BC list after Telangana was formed, and their inclusion is still pending with the State government due to technical reasons.

Dr Laxman assured that the national leadership of the BJP supports the inclusion of these communities in the OBC list. The Centre has requested the concerned State officials to submit their report, ensuring there are no technical obstacles. By pressuring the State government to send its report to the Centre, the inclusion can be achieved as soon as possible, he added. Dr Laxman also highlighted the PM’s efforts to improve the conditions of Viswakarmans, who have been neglected for a long time. Additionally, he mentioned the allocation of Rs 20,000 crore under the PM Matysampada Yojana.
