Text Size: 100%

BJP Telangana has lodged a complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer, accusing Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of violating the Model Code of Conduct. The party alleges that the CM has proposed a ministerial position for former cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin in an attempt to lure voters in the Jubilee Hills by-election.

The Model Code of Conduct, a set of guidelines issued by the Election Commission to regulate political parties and candidates prior to elections, prohibits offering any inducement to voters. The BJP argues that Reddy’s proposal to Azharuddin breaches these guidelines.
