Hyderabad: A bomb threat targeted an Emirates flight from Dubai to Hyderabad on Friday, December 5. The aircraft landed safely at Hyderabad Airport.
The threat came through an email, stating a bomb was on flight EK 526. All passengers were evacuated safely and moved to a secure area. Videos on social media showed a bomb squad checking the airport and calming the passengers.
This incident follows another recent bomb scare at the airport.
On December 2, an IndiGo flight from Kuwait to Hyderabad was diverted to Mumbai due to a bomb threat received by email. The message warned of an explosive on board.
The Airbus 6E1234 carried 228 passengers and six crew members. It made an emergency landing at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai around 6:30 a.m. Emergency protocols were activated, with security teams ready, including bomb squads and fire personnel.
Airport officials stated that the Air Traffic Control (ATC) was alerted early and worked with the airline and security to handle the diversion.
