Hyderabad faced a tense moment when an Emirates flight from Dubai was threatened with a bomb on December 5. The plane, identified as flight EK 526, received a threat via email stating there was an explosive onboard. It landed safely at Hyderabad Airport, where passengers were quickly evacuated and moved to a safe zone. Videos on social media showed the bomb squad at work, ensuring everyone’s safety.
This incident adds to recent threats at the airport. Just days earlier, on December 2, an IndiGo flight from Kuwait to Hyderabad was diverted to Mumbai due to a similar threat. This email warning also suggested a bomb might be present on the aircraft, prompting immediate precautions.
The IndiGo flight, numbered 6E1234, carried 228 passengers and six crew members. It made an emergency stop at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai around 6.30 a.m. As the plane approached, emergency teams, including bomb disposal units and fire personnel, were on standby. The Air Traffic Control acted swiftly, coordinating with the airline and security agencies to handle the situation efficiently.
