    The British Deputy High Commissioner, Gareth Wynn Owen, visited the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) in Hyderabad and praised their efforts. During the meeting, RTC officials discussed the current and future use of electric buses through a presentation.

    Gareth Wynn Owen commended TSRTC for their eco-friendly approach in using electric buses. The meeting was part of the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) pilot project, aiming to strengthen the financing mechanism for ZEVs as agreed upon in G-20 meetings last year.

    TSRTC is empowering its staff through workshops on managing electric buses. VC Sajjanar highlighted that the introduction of electric buses at TSRTC aims to provide a pollution-free travel experience.

    Other attendees at the meeting included British High Commissioner Senior Advisor Javaid Malla, Telangana Government Automotive and EV Sector Director Gopala Krishna, TSRTC COVO Dr Ravinder, Joint Director Apoorva Rao, IPS, WRI India representative Chaitanya Kanuri, and Ananya Banerjee from the University of California Davis.
