The Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) has leveled serious allegations against the ruling Congress party, claiming a systematic plot to manipulate the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election through illegal means including booth capturing, bogus voting, and voter intimidation.
In a formal complaint addressed to the Chief Election Commissioner, senior BRS leaders have demanded immediate intervention, citing what they describe as a complete breakdown of law and order in the constituency. The party has called for the urgent deployment of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and appointment of special observers to ensure free and fair polling.
The BRS complaint alleges that the Congress party, in collaboration with local police and AIMIM leaders, is bringing in bogus voters from outside the constituency. These individuals are reportedly being housed in function halls across Shaikpet, Rahmath Nagar, Yousufguda, Borabanda and Yerragadda divisions.
According to the letter, fake voter identity cards are being printed with police coordination to facilitate large-scale impersonation on polling day. The party has specifically warned about anti-social elements planning to pose as female voters.
The BRS has identified several high-risk polling stations, including booth numbers 20-22, 40-42, 54-58, and 61-70 in areas like Gulshan Colony and Diamond Hills within Shaikpet division. The party claims that 99 percent of booths in Yerragadda and surrounding divisions are vulnerable to rigging attempts.
The complaint names State ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao, accusing them of intimidating BRS workers and sympathizers through threats and illegal detention. The party alleges that police have failed to take action against these activities.
BRS leaders have also pointed to alleged violations of the Model Code of Conduct, citing large-scale celebrations and inducement activities conducted under the guise of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s birthday.
The party has submitted specific demands to the Election Commission, including binding over of known troublemakers, seizure of fake identification documents and cash meant for voter inducement, mandatory CCTV and webcasting with real-time monitoring, and deployment of women police officers at 105 identified sensitive booths.
BRS has also released videos on social media purportedly showing Congress workers distributing cash to voters in houses across the Jubilee Hills constituency, seeking registration of FIRs against the perpetrators.
