BRS leader Putta Madhu claimed that Congress MLAs in Manthani constituency are involved in looting natural resources and supporting the sand and soil mafia. During a press conference, Madhu accused Minister and Manthani MLA Sridhar Babu of aiding the sand mafia in the area. He also criticized the authorities for not taking action against illegal sand mining activities that do not comply with mining regulations.

According to Madhu, despite permission for only one lorry to transport sand, around 100 lorries were illegally transporting sand. He further alleged that the money owed to the government from these activities was being diverted to Sridhar Babu’s family members. Madhu also claimed that Sridhar Babu secured his MLA seat by distributing Rs. 2000 per vote.
