Gadwal: In Gadwal District, BRSV Leader and Coordinator Kurava Pallayya has called for immediate action against alleged misconduct at the Bainapally Paddy Procurement Centre in Aiza Mandal, part of the Alampur Constituency. He warned that if no steps are taken, the BRS party plans to organize farmers to protest at the district collectorate.
Kurava Pallayya accused Congress leaders of financial wrongdoing. He claimed they are buying paddy from Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh and falsely selling it as local produce at the Bainapally centre.
On Wednesday, Pallayya and his team inspected the procurement centre. They caught a man named Ali with about 170 bags of paddy, around 70 quintals, at his home. This paddy was ready to be illegally sold at the centre.
Pallayya reported the issue to the District Additional Collector. Although inspection officials visited, no effective measures were taken.
Local farmers revealed that Ali did not grow any paddy in the village. Instead, he brought it from outside the state. However, farmers are reluctant to openly speak against local Congress leaders due to fear of intimidation.
The BRS leader demanded a thorough investigation. He urged the district administration to:
– Suspend the AEO, CSC operator, and all officials involved with the procurement centre.
– File an FIR and take legal action against Ali.
Pallayya insisted that if the authorities do not act quickly, the BRS will lead a protest with farmers to besiege the collector’s office demanding justice.
