Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is organizing a protest at Chalo Bus Bhavan today to push for lower RTC bus fares. In anticipation, the police have increased security and restricted several BRS leaders to their homes to prevent their participation in the protest.
Kukatpally MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao and leaders like Vivekananda Goud, Shambhirpur Raju, and Sayubaba are among those confined. Police also stopped and put former minister and Maheshwaram MLA Sabita Indra Reddy under house arrest on her way to the protest.
Authorities are preparing for the BRS rally with extensive security at Bus Bhavan on RTC Cross Road.
However, former ministers K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) and Harish Rao have left their homes to join the protest. KTR plans to visit Talasani Srinivas Yadav’s residence before heading to Bus Bhavan, while Harish Rao plans to travel by bus from Mehdipatnam to the rally location.
