BRS Leaders File Complaint with ED Over Telangana Government’s MoU with Swachh Bio

On Tuesday, BRS leaders submitted a complaint to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in New Delhi. The complaint is focused on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Swachh Bio and the Telangana government. This MoU, which was announced by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on August 6, involves an investment of Rs 1,000 crore.

The BRS leaders are concerned about a potential conflict of interest in this deal. They pointed out that one of the directors of Swachh Bio is A Jagdeeshwar Reddy, who is the brother of the Chief Minister. According to M Krishank, the spokesperson for BRS, this connection raises questions about the integrity of the agreement. In his letter to the ED, Krishank wrote, “It is a matter of serious concern that one of the directors of Swachh Bio, A Jagdeeshwar Reddy, is the Chief Minister’s brother, which raises questions about the integrity of the deal.”

The complaint also mentions that Swachh Bio was established only 15 days before the Chief Minister’s visit to Philadelphia, USA, where the MoU was signed. The company is registered at an address in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, but the BRS leaders allege it is a shell company with no real business operations. The complaint questions the purpose of announcing this company in the USA, suggesting there might be involvement of foreign funds or even money laundering.

Additionally, the complaint raises concerns about another individual, Harsha Pasunuri, who was present during the signing of the MoU. Krishank questioned how Harsha Pasunuri and the Chief Minister’s brother, A Jagdeeshwar Reddy, were able to commit to such a large investment of Rs 1,000 crore. He urged the authorities to investigate thoroughly, stating, “As this is sheer corruption, we request the authorities to kindly accept our appeal as a complaint and conduct a fair investigation on Swachh Bio directors as well as on Revanth Reddy.”

The ED authorities have accepted the complaint and provided an acknowledgment. The BRS leaders are now waiting for further action to be taken.
