KCR, the leader of BRS, is focusing on strengthening the party after losing power in the Assembly polls. The party lacked proper structure and committees while in power, with all power resting with MLAs. Now, with many MLAs defeated, there is a leadership vacuum in districts.

To address this issue, KCR has instructed senior leaders to start enrolling members for the party. The party had claimed to have 60 lakh members from a previous membership drive. Another drive is set to begin after the LS poll results on June 4.

The party is expected to establish State and district committees with general secretaries and secretaries, as well as affiliated units like trade unions and community wings. This restructuring aims to strengthen the party and prevent leaders from leaving.

The BRS has looked at the organizational structure of Dravidian parties like DMK and AIADMK in Tamil Nadu for inspiration. These regional parties have been successful in their states, and BRS leaders want to learn from their longevity and support base.
