In Warangal, the BRS leadership has chosen Dr. Kadiyam Kavya as their candidate for the Warangal Lok Sabha (SC reserved) seat. Dr. Kavya is the daughter of MLC and former deputy chief minister Kadiyam Srihari.
There was some drama surrounding Aroori Ramesh, who was initially considered for the seat but ultimately refused. Party leaders convinced Ramesh to stay with the BRS instead of joining the BJP. Following Ramesh’s decision, KCR decided to field Dr. Kavya, who works as a medical officer.
Dr. Kavya has been trying to enter politics for some time now. Her father, Kadiyam Srihari, had tried to get her to contest in previous elections as well, including from the Warangal Lok Sabha seat and other Assembly seats.
Dr. Kavya is known for her social service work, particularly in promoting menstrual hygiene among teenage girls in rural areas. Through her Kadiyam Foundation, she has organized many programs in government schools to raise awareness on this important issue.
