Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Targets Opposition in Peddapalli Speech

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, speaking at the Yuva Vikasam Sabha in Peddapalli on Wednesday, criticized the opposition parties for their alleged unwillingness to accept a common man as the Chief Minister. He urged the people to confront the propaganda spread by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and support the Congress government.

Revanth Reddy reflected on his journey, saying he had risen through life’s challenges with the support of the people. He credited senior Congress leader G Chinna Reddy for initiating the Telangana movement by presenting a proposal to Sonia Gandhi in 2002. This, he claimed, planted the idea of a separate Telangana in her mind. He also paid tribute to the youth who sacrificed their lives during the Telangana agitation.

The Chief Minister took a jab at the BRS government, accusing it of failing to fulfill job promises. In contrast, he highlighted his government’s achievements, stating that the Congress had filled 55,000 job positions within a year, a feat even Prime Minister Narendra Modi could not achieve in Gujarat. He also reiterated his promise to empower one crore women financially, urging their support in the next elections to secure a second term for the Congress.

Criticism of KCR and the Opposition

Revanth Reddy criticized KCR for neglecting farmers in the Peddapalli district over the past decade. He alleged that while KCR earned significant profits from his Gajwel farms, he failed to assist other farmers across the state. The Chief Minister also questioned why the KCR family refrained from participating in the ongoing Caste Census and urged BC associations to socially boycott those who avoided the survey.

Commenting on opposition demands for his resignation, Revanth Reddy ridiculed BRS leader KCR by challenging him to attend Assembly sessions and contribute to meaningful discussions. He sarcastically referenced KCR’s claim of having read 80,000 books, urging him to share his “knowledge” for the betterment of the state. He also accused the BRS of prioritizing personal family employment over fulfilling promises to the people.
