    Case Filed Against 20 Individuals for Assaulting Shiv Sena Functionary in Thane District

    In Thane district, Maharashtra, a local Shiv Sena functionary was attacked by a group of people, as confirmed by the police. The incident happened on August 27 and the Ambernath police station has filed a case against 20 individuals involved.

    Ajit Surendran Nair, who is the shakha pramukh for a branch of the Shiv Sena at Navre Park in Ambernath, explained in his police complaint that an argument broke out during an ongoing election in a housing society. The accused group tried to move the chairs designated for society members and Nair objected. This led to an alleged assault on him by the accused individuals, who also threatened him with serious consequences.

    After being injured, Nair went to the Ambernath police station for help. The police referred him to a hospital for medical treatment. Nair expressed concerns about his safety from the attackers in his complaint.

    Based on the complaint, the police filed an FIR against the 20 individuals involved, with five of them being identified. The charges against them include unlawful assembly, rioting, causing intentional harm, and criminal intimidation according to official sources.
