CCMB Marks 36th Foundation Day with Celebrations

The Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) in Hyderabad celebrated its 36th Foundation Day on Monday. The event was attended by Dr. Rajesh Gokhale, Secretary of the Department of Biotechnology, who emphasized the importance of researchers staying up-to-date with current tools and opportunities. He also discussed unpublished studies on the connection between the gut and liver during colitis and how controlling liver inflammation can reduce irritation symptoms.

During the celebration, the CCMB Director provided a summary of the institute’s work and achievements over the past year. Senior students and postdoctoral fellows presented their research, and there was an evening festival called Mehfil-e-Mast, which combined science and art.

Dr. Vinay K Nandicoori, the Director of CCMB, highlighted the institute’s role in creating an environment where scientists and artists can coexist and inspire each other. He emphasized the importance of creative solutions to complex problems in today’s world.
