The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet about the Delhi excise policy scam. They claim that former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, had fake emails made by Zakir Khan, Chairperson of Delhi Minorities Commission, to control the process of gathering comments about the liquor policy. Sisodia was unhappy with the Expert Committee report submitted by former Excise Commissioner Ravi Dhawan, so he had a special email address created for comments from the public and stakeholders. The CBI alleges that Sisodia got fake emails sent from interns at the DMC to this email address, with suggestions about the new Excise Policy. They say that Sisodia had already decided on his ideas for the policy and was trying to create a fake public opinion in support of his ideas.
