An elderly woman named Lakshmi, aged 55, was robbed by a chain snatcher in KPHB Colony on Wednesday morning. The thief stole her gold chain while she was cleaning in front of her house.
A masked man approached Lakshmi and asked for a glass of water. As she went inside to fetch it, the man followed her into the house. Suddenly, he grabbed her 2.5-tola gold chain and ran away.
Before Lakshmi could react and raise an alarm, the thief had already escaped into the nearby lanes.
The KPHB police have started an investigation. They are checking CCTV footage from the area to identify the suspect.
